A bill that would offer a path to a legal status for farm workers and update a visa program for workers passed the House of Representatives this week, according to a statement from U.S. Rep. Anthony Brindisi’s office. Brindisi cosponsored the bill.
The Farm Workforce Modernization Act would establish a program for farm workers and their families to earn legal status in the United States through continued employment in agriculture and contributions to the country’s agricultural economy, according to the statement.
